Don't ask me questions!

I recently did a lot of driving and I listened to "Breaking Dawn" in the car.

I was struck with something.  Stephanie Myer asked me to many questions.  Bella was always asking, but here choices were opposites.  "What did I see, Silver? Gold?" -Bella.  "How long would it take.  One week, two weeks, three weeks?" -Bella.  The list goes on and on and on.

The reason I was irritated is because in the end of the book I felt like I was being asked so many questions but it didn't end how I would of wanted.  SO, she asked my opinion on stupid things but made me think about it instead of just telling me and taking me on a ride.  In the end I felt like I had a say in how this ended, you asked me after all!

Is this crazy or is it just because I am an author and I cant help but think "I wouldn't of done it that way."

(P.S. I still love the Twilight series and will read/listen to them again.  I have drunk the kool-aid.)

Cuz I'm a visual person and I cant have a post without pictures, I had to share this cuteness that is my middle son.

  1. Awwww, he's so cute!

There are SO many things I would've changed in Breaking Dawn, and yes, I'm a writer too, but I don't think that's why. I think it's simply because there were soooo many things that needed changing in Breaking Dawn, haha.

  2. That is the cutest photo ever!

I read the Twilight series ages ago, well, it feels like ages ago to me, and I don't remember all the questions.

  3. He's so adorable, all garbed and ready for action.

I did not read beyond the first book in the Twilight series. There were too many things I would have wanted to change in that book so didn't see the point in continuing with it.

  4. Lynda, I hadnt remembered them either, but the second time I read it, I realized it. And I realized with the first book how many INGS she put in it.

    He said Knowingly.
    He said begrunginly.
    he sighed huffily.

    HUFFILY? REALLY? LOL!

My editor would stop on that, eat it then spit it out and tell me to get a life and learn to write!

Yeah, I think being a writer makes us a little more picky than the usual reader. :-)

  6. Your son is freaking adorable! Love the pic!

It's amazing how many things you find reading a book when a) it's your second time through and b) when you're a writer! Kinda ruins a lot of things that you might otherwise love. Sigh.

  7. So adorable :) I love it!

About Breaking Dawn...Now that you've brought it up I actually think I have a habit of asking questions too...not opinion questions, more like internal dialog questions. I'll have to be cautious about that one.
