N is for Neville

Neville Longbottom is my second favorite character in the Harry Potter series.  (You will have to wait for S to find out who my first favorite is.)

The thing I love most about Longbottom is that he starts out as a chubby, forgetful, clumsy nobody who has no real talent.  But ends up being one of the biggest reasons that the main character Harry Potter can kill Voldermort.

I am going to give away the end of the book...

If you are one of those people who just watches the movies and hasn't read the books...you may slap yourself on the face and then go pick up the first book The Sorcerers Stone

In the last book The Deathly Hallows, Neville is given a choice by the Dark Lord to become a Death Eater because he is a "Pure Blood."  Neville refuses him so Voldermort puts the sorting hat on his head and he makes it burst into flames.  Neville fights the fire with will power and manages to get the hat off and when he does he pulls the sword of Gryfindor out and cuts off the head of Naginie, Voldermorts snake.  This is the last thing that is keeping Harry from truly defeating Voldermort.

IT IS THE COOLEST PART IN THE BOOK!

I know a lot of us feel like a Neville.  Like we have nothing to offer because we aren't particularly good looking or talented.  In the end tho, all Neville needed was honor and determination.  Isn't that all we really need also?

Don't know this lady, but she is my new hero and I couldn't of said it any better than she did!

If there is anything int he world that buggs me Catherine its peopel who say "Harry Potter is so dark" you know instantly all they have done with watched the movies, becuase they are about 90% darker than the books.

I pointed at Neville and told the hubby, "That is the hero of the Harry Potter movies."

He took one look at the buck-toothed, mopey kid and rolled his eyes.
Obviously, he didn't read the books.
